Ditch the desk and get outside

WRITING WORKSHOPS FOR
THE WILD AT HEART

Ever wanted to write about your outdoor adventures? See your name in print? Work with outdoor brands you love?

We’re here to help you do exactly that—and maybe even turn your adventures into an income.

These aren't your average writing workshops. Words Gone Wild gets you away from the desk and off the beaten path—literally—and drops you into the kind of landscapes that spark real stories. Think campfires, open skies, fresh air, and the freedom to write without walls.

Because if your stories are born in the wild, that’s where you should learn to tell them.

Adventure & Travel Writing Retreat on the Six Foot Track with Words Gone Wild

Over two days on the iconic Six Foot Track in the Blue Mountains, you’ll hike 15km through the Megalong Valley, cross the Cox’s River, sleep off-grid at a remote eco lodge, and finish with lunch and wine at a boutique vineyard.

Along the way, you’ll take part in hands-on writing sessions—from interview skills around the campfire to sensory storytelling after a wild swim. You'll leave with practical tools, fresh ideas, and the space to shape your stories.

Every step also supports the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, thanks to our partnership with not-for-profit tour company Emu Trekkers.
